This was a great interview got a few gems, however, I don't agree you will never be in control of your product until you have you on brand Gucci will never let him. It is great that he wants to one day have his own brand but there is no time to wait he's already 76! Distribution and finance is his problem but he's forgetting the digital age we are in, use that money to start out making a limited stock which well is sold online distribute yourself its gonna be nowhere near as big as Gucci but to get to that level it will take time

awesome interview. Dapper Dan enthusiasm for potential of his hustle even at his age like he is 25. You believe in your own value that you still have the energy and out work these young guys. The knowledge he dropped. He and the Jindenna interview gave great explanation to the current topic of Jay-z possible purchase of a NFL team. good information

Back in the 70's the east Indians that were living in Uganda were extremely racist toward the native black people. Before anybody, the first people to be kicked out of Uganda were the British, and then Amin kicked out the east Indians. If Idi Amin would not had pissed the British off Uganda's economy would have been okay. Uganda was also a country that recently became independent from the British so was not suprising why its economy fail.

All of this true. What black ppl fail to understand is that this market goes both ways. You can’t just sell to black ppl. Black mom & pop shops are longgg gone. The landscape is different. Partnerships have to be made and bridges have to be built to effectively affect the culture and global attitudes.

Religion is what fuckedup Africa and left it weak for anyone to take over. All African Religions forbid the invention of new technologies and people were killed for inventing anything new. They new anout the wheel from Arabs who came to traee but were allowed to build some for themself for examlpe. Religion fucked Africa before Europeans and is still doing it now with Christianity and Islam.

He is saying the same thing Kanye was saying.. the fashion business is a very niche business and far way not the easiest to break into and thrive. Look at past black high brand fashion houses like phat farm, fubu, karl kanai etc.. also black culture doesn’t support anything that really comes from fellow black people, this idiot Charlemagne keeps thinking u can just pop up and create a luxury brand, it’s not that easy.. the funding alone is a whole lot, the fashion business isn’t like the music business in which u can cut off the middle man‼️

So I understand that everyone has to learn but you have to pay attention what he is saying. You have to start from the inside. A black man during those times and unfortunately current times did not have the power that those distributions had. START FROM THE INSIDE AND LEARN.....THEN CREATE!!!

Straight house Nigga mentality wait til the end of the video you will see it come out of him pause. Every real question they ask him he brain fu$k then nigga and not give a answer. The only reason the drug dealers bought those expensive clothes was because broke people could not buy them. Aka black people or unless your selling drugs 😂 fu$k out here. Say the truth it’s not about race it all about money.

the guy is just such an intellectual figure, reading in between the lines, its like he's saying that he does not necessarily need black folks to afford the merchandise he just needs the high end guys to support it to the global market such that, all he then does is sell globally and get that money back to the black community of whom he employs
