So this is a $500 Budget Build Video in disguise.
Now obviously, this computer build will require a little bit of deal hunting on your part. Not everything I show here is something you NEED, but parts like it or even the part itself is easy enough to find secondhand on any of the resources I have below.
Resources for Deal Hunting:
/r/buildapcsales
/r/hardwareswap
OfferUp
LetGo
Craigslist
However, for those of you that are not so patient, I have a part list here to the parts used in the video:
Ryzen 5 2600 Processor:
amzn.to/2Ck9Qqi
AMD Wraith CPU Cooler:
Comes with link above
CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000MH RAM:

GIGABYTE X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING:

MSI Graphic Cards RX 580 Armor 8G OC Graphics Card:

If you have any questions about the parts specifically or how I go about getting parts like these at what prices, I will answer. The best way to do that is through my discord. Link below.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and if you like the content I put out, a like and subscribe helps me out a ton for my confidence because as of now, I don't know if the content I am making is useful to anyone.
Let me know any videos you would like to see in the future!
Here is my discord server link that you should leave me a message or come talk to me over voice chat for longer questions or if you are just looking for some advice/support on your computer building experience :)

Sooo. You decide to go find that one employee that probably doesn't even work in the electronic section and ask him about the shittiest computer you could find and make a video about "DON'T BUY FROM BEST BUY" to then turn around and say "I'm not saying don't buy from certain manufacturers, just be careful about the retailer's who sell them" this whole video blows and your theory about best buy sucks.

I just recently put together a pc for my sister for exactly $420, with mail-in rebate it came out to about $400. The system had a B450M motherboard, a ryzen 2200g, 16gb of ram, I think it was corsair Vengeance, and a zotac gtx 1060 6gb. A 650w Bronze rated psu, and a bitfenix Case for $20 (with a viewing windows on the side panel). Also a 1TB hdd. She later bought an ssd (not included in the price) for $45 (500GB) and RGB light for $12, with a controller, all of which I soldered to a molex connector. All in all its an AMAZING build, even looks great. All of this for roughly a total of $440 ish, with rebates and ssd/rgb strip. With a 1080p monitor I had lying around, a mechanical KB I had, and a cheap $30 gaming mouse from amazon, she ended up with a great setup.

Confused, your whole argument is based on one employee and their answers? Is this how you shop for a car or place to live? Second, where is the cost of the OS in this price? Finally, Craiglist and Used PSU and SSD? Come on. If you have a 1k budget, than get new SSD , PSU, and maybe even a case. If you do not have 1k, you still buy a new PSU, but stick to HDD.

first thing every tech youtuber says dont buy from "where ever" just buy parts online and you will save money. yet they forget half the things you need to actually build a decent computer, not to mention the time waiting for parts to arrive and time to build it. also what about the parent who is not techy at all and is buying a computer for they child who likes to do basic gaming (like 7-10 years old) do you think they are gonna allow them to just go and buy parts online themselves. or do you think the parent is gonna spend days researching what you need for a computer then ordering it then putting it together. where as going to a store while yes may be more expensive and horrible quality but it is a cost of convenience

Came close to is but then the employee brung me the same laptop with a marked off price because it fell off a pallet and charged me $1,300 tax included. I gotta say god is on my side cause i came in at the right moment to save $700 😂 it runs awesome today after 3 very intensive years of owning it. Gotta say one of the best investments I made. Unfortunately it’s time for us to part ways. My desktop should be fully built by this week :( .

I currently work at best buy and I agree. It is cheaper to build your own as I myself have done because it was cheaper. However, how many people know how to build a pc and know what parts are good or what all to get? Everyone that knows how to build a pc probably will and should build one rather than buying one. And of course it's priced way above what it should be. There is a difference between retail and private purchase. Businesses have to make a profit to survive. My biggest complaint tho is the guy you showed as the employee. His blue shirt is not tucked.

It's just a store that sells things to the majority of the population out there. It isn't geared towards extreme enthusiasts, just what commonly sells best. Most people don't care to get this picky about it, they just want to get something and use it. You can bash Best Buy if you like, but honestly, I think you have the wrong expectation and it's kind of silly to portray employees like mindless fools. Sorry you had a bad experience, but it's not the norm. Best Buy is doing very well despite your opinion and obviously the majority of shoppers are pleased. Employees are pleased as well. It is a very good company with excellent benefits and Best Buy treats their employees well.

I am not going to run all over town meeting strangers spending valuable time and pay for computer parts in hopes that they work. I do understand building your own system is preferable in many cases. I buy parts from Newegg or Amazon so at least I am not out of luck if something doesn't work. Some people just want to buy a prebuilt though so that is where they should do their homework and buy when they go on sale like the Black Friday deals. Bestbuy regularly has sales so you just need to know what you are buying.

For those of us who travel and need a laptop solution: I just picked up a Micro Center, PowerSpec 1520 with I-7 8750h, RTX 2070, 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD, 16GB RAM (yes, in only one stick, but that just allowed me to pop in another one for an easy, overkill 32GB), 144mhz G-sync enabled 1080p 15.6" screen. Sure, it's not cheap, at $1499 (at time of purchase), but it gets the job done while meeting my requirement of being a laptop...oh, and it has RGB. Ironically, when my 3.5 year old Asus G751 entered a bsod loop, the first place I looked online (because I needed something I could pick up same day) was Best Buy. A conventional pc isn't an option for me, but this is a great vid for how to build on the cheap.

14:37 You bought an SSD that they guy said it was just formatted... Are we just going to glaze over the part where you didn't pay for Windows 10??? Annnnnnd if we're talking budget, what about the cost of a monitor, keyboard, mouse?? Or are we just assuming the person building a gaming PC would somehow already have those parts.?? So I understand it's not much, Say $100 for Windows 10 (legally) and what.... $200~$300 for a decent monitor, Keyboard & mouse? So tack on another $300~$400 to the total? Yes?? No??

I bought a computer from Best Buy. I had an overall good experience. But, I will admit, I was lucky. My shopping experience was similar to the animation in the early portion of this video. But, the salesmen weren't pushy. Therefore, I was able to casually stroll around and look up models and specs on my phone--as well as compare prices. The computer I settled on was on sale for SIGNIFICANTLY less than list price at Best Buy (and elsewhere). In the month or so so since my purchase, I've monitored prices on that machine. At no time, anywhere, has it gotten as low in price as I got mine for. When the guy brought the box for my computer from the back, I overheard a second Best Buy employee talking to a third (they weren't involved in my transaction). He told the third guy something like "there's only like two of those (my computer) in the back." So, I got a satisfactory machine at a price I was willing to pay (I would not have been willing to pay regular price). However, I understand had I gone to maybe a different store, maybe 48 hours later (or sooner), I would have had an entirely different experience. I agree with the video as a general warning, though.
